BOROUGH COUNCILS.
« WOOLSTON. The meeting of the Woolston Borough Council was held on Thursday evesning ; prtesent — The Mayor (Mr Douglass), and Councillors Milne," Thomas, Henley, Gimblett, Spreadbury, Colvill, and Lord. The Linwood Borough Council asked the consent of the Council to join with the other suburban boroughs in forming a short road to the Sewage Farm Reserve. It was decided that the Works Committee should report on the matter. The Clerk was directed t^> writs to the Drainage Board on the subject of tho storm water sewer, and other matters. It was decided to remit one-half- of the current rates on a house in Princess Street. The ' Mayor reported that Councillor Lord and he had attended the meeting of delegates to consider the establishment of abattoirs. It was decided, on the motion of Councillors Milne and Thomas that the Mayor and Councillor Lord should attend any further conferences, and give a general support in the direction of erecting public abattoirs by the combined local bodies. The Mayor and. Councillor Gimblett explained what had .been done at the meeting of delegates in reference to the tramway concessions, and it was decided that a special meeting of the Council should be held on Wednesday to further consider the matter. The reportof the Works Committee recommended certain alterations in the mode of metalling the new road through Tilford. Councillor Henley, gave notice to move at a future meeting that the resolution passed on Feb. 23, in reference to the metal to be put on Tilford Road, should be rescinded. A special meeting will be held on Oct. 13 to consider the matter.
