PROPERTY SALES.

Mbsshs H. Matson and Co- held an ia-' portant sale of property at their Sale Booms mi Cashel street, on Saturday last. The attendance; was very large, the room being crowded to over-. flowing. The properties were most interesting as to the situation and for testing the market; and by the biddings and spirit generally shown; to purchase, if the valuation had not been placed j so high most of the property, especially on the! Papanui road, would easily have found purchasers. Sixty-four building sections, situate on the Papanui road, and known as Finglas, were first submitted, and the following are the' results:—No. 1, containing 36 perches, a corner section, sold for £150; No. 2, containing 36 parches, £145; Nog. 3 and 4, containing 36 perches each, £130 each; No. 5, containing 36 perches, £135; No. 6, oontaiuing 86 perches, £liO. The remaining sections were passed in. The next property was the township of Seaforth, situate at Little Biver, Lake Forsyth., The auctioneer, Mr J. T. Matson, explained the; peculiar advantages of ibis really beautiful marine township with great clearness and force. '. The results are as under, viz.—Lot 1, contain-, ing 1 rood 23 perches, £45; lots 40, 42 and 43,! about quarter-acre each, £17 each: lots 38 and! 39, about 34 perches, £15 each; 10t45,1 rood 14 perches, £14; lot 29, oontaining 36 perches, £13; lots 10 and 11, each 1 rood 4 perches, £10 each; lots 65 and 66, each 1 rood 9 perches, £101 each; lots 12 and 16, containing 40 perches each, i JB10; lot 47, containing 39 perches. £10; lot: 28, containing 36 perches, £10. Total sale,' £1083. There was a large attendance at Messrs T.T.j Fobd and Co 's rooms on Saturday afternoon, when the township of Falegravewas submitted to! auction. No sales were, however, effected, as the land was passed in, the biddings not reach-' ing the owner's reserve. ;
