Land Sales.

Two sales of suburban land were conducted in Christchurch to-day. The first was in Messrs Miles and Co.'s salerooms, in the morning, when Mr J. T. Ford offered (on behalf of the trustees of the late Chas. Mackie) GO acres, part of Rural Section 555, situated between Dallington and Locksley, on the river Avon, One section, three and three-quarter acres, waa secured by a neighbouring landowner named Smith, at JS6O an acre, but , the others were withdrawn. The second sale was conducted by Messrs , H. Matson and Co. (associated with the National M. and A. Company of N.Z., Limited), who had a very large attendance, in their rooms in the afternoon. This was i the offering of Graham's Estate at Fendali ton, a property well known and of very , prolific soil. As the property had been i subdivided into convenient-sized blocks : suitable for small farms, considerable l interest was centred in the proceedings, t the audience on the occasion comprising I merchants asd representatives of all the , leading financial institutions in the city, , together with a number of farmers and others. r The following sales were effected, viz. i I Lot 1, 36 acreß at £35, H.
