SPREYDON.
The monthly meeting of this Board was held on April 1; present — Messrs J. T. Brown (chairman), J. Hocking, D. Handisides and A. Cockburn. A letter was read from Mr Hellewell, requesting that some shingle should be put on the path in Hellewell Street. The Foreman was directed to attend to the matter. The Clerk wrote resigning his office. The resignation was accepted with regret, and it was decided to advertise for a successor. Regarding new streets leading from Edinbridge Street, it was decided that when they were formed and shingled the Board would take them over. It was decided to kerb the footpath in Somerset Street from -Mrs Dorm's corner to the school gates, and' also a further portion of Rosewarne Street from Somerset Street to Mr Down's culvert. The Clerk was instructed! to write to the City Council with reference; to dairies, that after the meeting on Sept. 2, 1896, the Board passed a resolution to take no further steps in the matter. It was decided to leave tho drainage of Oxford Street until the next meeting. A committee was appointed to inspect Cheviot Street, with a view to its improvement; with power to act. The pay-sheet, amounting to .£46 19s 2d, was passed.
