MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
THE NOMINATIONS. CnBiSTOHUBon. The following gentlemon wore nominated to-day for the vacancies caused in the City Council by tho retirement of Councillors Hulbert, King, LamboH, Taylor and Cherrill : — Bouth-eaat Ward— Mr 0. P. Hulbert Mr Samuel Manning, South-west Ward — Mr Charles Louisson. Mr Jameß Tait. North-eaßt Ward— Mr E. Hiorns. Mr W. E. Samuels. Mr J. P. Oliver. North-weit Ward — Mr James Bowman. Mr T. S. Lambert. Mr J. P. Oliver. The poll will take place betwoon 9 a.m. aud 6' p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8. The polling places will be as follows :— South-east Ward, St. John's schoolroom ; South-west Ward, St. Michael's schoolroom ; North-east Ward, Orange Ball ; North- weat Ward, City Council Chambors. Sydenham. At Sydenham tho only candidatoß nominated wero the three rotiring councillors, Messrs J. Joyce, J. R. Androw, and J. Forrester. The presont is tho first annual election, sinco the formation of tho Borough, that haß passed orer without a contest.
