Thursby -ivas in front of Kawainga over six.furlongs in lmin 2250 c.. Honour and Jaloux jumped away at the seven furlong post. After running the first three furlongs in 39 l-ssec. and the half mile in 51 4-ssec", with Jaloux in front at this .stage, they completed the full distance in lmin 32 2-ssec, Honour 'having nearly a length's advantage when the post was reached. This colt is galloping well and promises to be a very tough proposition in the'Great-Northern Eerby. Gemlight was -in., front ._of_ Praetor over five furlongs in lmin 6sec. Dutiraven, a two-year-old .and'a. full brother to Limerick, was sent" three furlongs with Drastic, running home in 39sec. Toxeuma, Tea Time, and' Taneriri were in that order, after running six furlongs in lmin 20see. Toxeuma, ridden by E. Stanway, had a good deal the.worst of the weights, and pleased most.

There was very little between Currajong and Tetrachate at the end of six furlongs, run in lmin 19 l-ssec. _ Lady's Boy galloped three furlongs in 39see. °

The Cup candidates Paquito and Count Cavour jumped away at the top of the straight, and, though the former got,a bit of a break on at the start, Count Cavour was with him as they reached the mile and a quarter post. They covered the distance in 2mm 17 2-.ssec with Count Cavour a shade in front when they passed the post. They ran the last round in 2min 7 2-ssec, and the- final six furlongs in lmin 22 3-ssec. After breakfast "Measurer and Luxurious jumped off together at tho six-furlong post. They ran the first three furlongs in. 40sec, and the full distance in lmin 23.4-ssec. Gay Cockade, who began slowly from the six-furlong post, took lmin 21 3-ssee to complete a similar task. Mon Star did half a mile in Sosec. Tremetus, Bafflight, and Thespis ran half a mile in 53 4-ssec. There was little between them. The jumpers, Kainehanieha. (it'Neil) and Bahepoto (Stanway), were sent over four school hurdles. Importer (J. Burgess) went with them over the last three. They gave a fairi r ciisp]ay. Catonian (Stanway) showed to more advantage than Mountain' Guide (Burgess) at the completion of a schooling task over four hurdles.
