QUICK DEPARTURE
THREE IN THE MORNING
SEW ZEALAND AIRMAN
(Received 21st Decemßer, S a.m.)
LONDON, 20th December. Captain E. C. Chichester is a young and wealthy New Zealander. Ho had only been flying for three months. He kept his intention secret beyond-inform-ing the Now Zealand Air representative, Air. Wiles, but ho did not hint at such a quick departure. Unexpectedly he arrived at Croydon at midnight. Only a handful of aerodrome officials saw the take-off of the Moth in brilliant moonlight at 3 a.m. under perfect conditions, Chichester shouted, "Cheerio! I'm off to Australia."
It is understood that Lyons will be his first stop.
