PROGRESS IN DEVELOPMENT

19th December. Mr.-P. Montague, Under-Secretary for Air, questioned in the House of Commons regarding progress in the development of the Cairo-Cape air route, said that proposals for this service had been agreed on in principle with tins various Governments concerned, and had also been accepted by the Imperial Airways Company. Various preparatory details for organising the service were m hand.. Satisfactory arrangements had been made regarding ground organisation within the Union of South Africa. The first section of sewice was expected to be ready in June, 1930 and the second half about six months' later.
