Mails close at the chief Post offico for the following places (subjeot to the nocessary alterations) as under:— Satnrday, June 5. For Northern Ports, per Wellington, at 7 p.m. The guard's van must not be nsod for this mail. Tuesday, June 5. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Arawata. Tho next mail for the United Kingdom, vii San Francisco, will be closed at Chriatchuroh on June 19, and will be due in London oh August 3. Tho next mail for tho United Kingdom via Brindisi (for specially a^drcsrcl corr^Rpondenco only), will be closed at Christchurch on July 1, and will be due in London on August 21. The Post Offices at Christchuroh and Lyttolton will be open evory Saturday night from half-past 6 until a quarter to 8 o'clock, for the purpose of receiving Saviugs' Bank Deposits only.
