They have not beon particularly fortunate, only 25 tuns of oil having been taken. Tho Rov Shirley Baker, (ho Premier of Tonga, has promised a scholarship for the bost scholar in English among the Nativo students at the Threo Kings Woileyan College, to be called the Uga Scholarship, in memory of tho Crown Princo Tonga, who died in Auckland. Mr Codlin was elected Mayor of Onehunga, defeating Mr John Dimdon. A fire destroyed Mr J. 0. M'Oormick's stables last night. The building was insured in tho Union offico for £250. DUNEDIN, Dbc. 1. Tho amount of duty collected for the month of November at tho Customs was £3-1,453 5s ad. Tho gold duty amounted to £1210 10s Id, and lho beor duty to £1245 12s Cd.
