RIVER BOARD.
SiTHIS DAY. ■ The usual meeting of the South Waimakariri River Board was held this afternoon ; preseut — Messrs E. .W. England (chairman) and K. M. Taylor, C. F. Carpenter, C. Money, J. C. Atkinson, J. Glanville and T. Wilson. . The Overseer's report dealt with matters which had occurred during the jnpnth. Some repairs had been rendered necessary ab the groins at Mason's Flat, and under instructions from the chairman, cement had been procured, and the work done. There had been several freshes in the river during the month, but no other damage had been done. On the motion of Mr Atkinson, seconded by Mr Smith, the action or the Chairman in procuring the cement was endorsed. In reply to a letter from Mrs Brown as to a reserve of three acres at Belfast occupied by her, it was decided that she should be allowed to continue to occupy the same for a further three years at the present rental, provided that she puts the fences in order and keeps them in good repair. The labour pay-sheet for the month (.£33 2s) and accounts to the amount of .£360 14s od having been passed for payment the ■mpAfcinn' closed.
