CHRISTCHURCH.
(The following candidates for the vacan'des in the City Council were nominated to--day : — North-west Ward — J. Bowman. South-west Ward — C. Louisson. South-east Ward— S. P. Andrews, H. Bennetts. North-east Ward— W. T. Grinsted, W. _L Hosking. Messrs Bowman and Louisson have been declared duly elected. The polling for the South-east Ward will take place at St. John's school on Sept. 11, and for the North-east Ward at the Orange Trail on the same day.
